I went with my friend for a two days vacation. Our main destination was Kasab which is a nice small city one hour from Latakia (80 KM). Latakia itself is 3.5 hours from Damascus.

 

We left Damascus on Friday 5:00 AM and were in Latakia by 9:00 were we had a lovely breakfast in a restaurant called Samakmak. We then went to Kasab were we rent a nice Villa. We spent the day cursing around in Kasab which is really amazing, mountains are surrounding you and fresh air is ruling the place.

 

We had dinner in a place called Rabweh and it was one of the most amazing grilled chickens I had in my life.

 

Next day we waked up on this beautiful scene of clouds going down and sinking in the mountains. We went to Al Samra early in the morning and what can I say about Al Samra. Clearly one of the most amazing spots in Syria Mountain meets the sea in a perfect harmony, too bad it's not very popular amongst tourists and even amongst Syrian

 

Al Samra is like 20 minutes away from Kasab and they have one restaurant but surly the best restaurant in the whole area. I had the most amazing breakfast of my life.

It was all home made breakfast full of fresh food and fresh vegetables we really didn't want to leave the place because it was AMAZING that's how it should be described

 

We left Samra then went back to the villa were we packed then went back to Latakia,. I forgot to say that the road from Kasab to Latakia is breathtaking and you really don't feel that it's been an hour to arrive

 

We went to fresh up at our friends' house then went to one of the best restaurants in Syria which is Abo Dourid

 

I remember going there with my friends 6 years ago were we had fish and I can swear that I can still smell it. We were there by 3:00 were we ordered fried and grilled fish both were really amazing and the restaurants now have a nice surprise which is grilled knafeh

 

OMG it was and will be for ever the most amazing Knafeh I had in my life so thick and so rich of cheese and because of the way they grill it on coal it was really rich in flavor and not really that fatty . It was delicious God bless Abo Dourid.

 

We left Latakia at 7:00 going back to Damascus and were there by 11:00

 

Two days from heaven that what I can say about them.  I still have a lot to say about the trip because in a way it changed my life for ever and inshalla for the best and I would like to thank all my friends who shared this amazing experience with me.

We lost against Brazil in the Fifa world youth championship after a great match and a great perfomance by our red eagles we hit the post once and they scored against us from a penalty kick (false one)

Syria's fantastic run at the FIFA World Youth Championship Netherlands 2005 came to an end in the round of 16 in Tilburg as a single goal from the spot was just about enough to put Brazil into the quarter-finals.

The Syrians were far from out of their depth against Brazil and though they were clearly not as technically gifted as their South American opponents, their heart and determination might have brought them greater reward on another night.

Brazil coach Rene Weber said: "We had a good amount of chances, but we need to work on our scoring touch. Germany will be a tough opponent in the quarter-finals and we saw them against Argentina and also against China, but for now I just want to enjoy this victory."

Syria made a confident, bright start and had the first shot on target with Salah Shakrour getting a quick volley goalbound after being released by Meaataz Kailouni but it was straight at goalkeeper Renan.

Brazil struggled to find their rhythm early on, though they threatened to take the lead when Bobo only just failed to stretch an d get a toe on the end of Ernane's inviting cross.

Syria promised to attack whenever they got the opportunity and, true to their word, Jalal al Abdi made a good surging run into the box, but then waited too long and Rafael came across to cut off his route to goal.

There was no such hesitation moments later when Brazil carved through Syria with some quick give-and-go passes which freed Fabio Santos 20 yards out, but Adnan al Hafez dived to the right and clutched the ball to his chest.

Syrian defender Hasan al Mostafa then bravely blocked a thundering drive by full-back Rafael who charged in on goal like a 100m sprinter and al Hafez tipped away a curler by Roberto - Brazil were beginning to assert themselves by now.

A well-worked free-kick straight from the training ground almost unlocked Syria, but after Santos drove Ernane's lay off goal-bound, Edcarlos could not get enough power onto his back-flick and al Hafez safely gathered.

Brazil's pressure paid off just before half-time when Rafael burst into the box at greet speed again only for Hamzeh al Haitoni to clumsily bring him down and Rafael stroked in the penalty (1:0, 43').

The second half was not the greatest of Netherlands 2005 as both sides struggled to lift the tempo, though Brazil were predictably the dominant force.

One fluid move saw Santos charge through on the left flank thanks to a delightful back-heel by Bobo, but the shot was straight at the legs of al Hafez.

As the game wore on, Brazil's reluctance to settle for victory by a solitary penalty grew apparent and the lively Ernane was unlucky that one of three team-mates could not make a connection with his dangerous centre across the face of goal.

Syria refused to give in without a fight and Mohammad al Hamwi almost created an opening out of nothing, twisting and turning to shake off his markers, then getting a decent shot in, but Brazil blocked his path to goal.

Undaunted, al Hamwi came at Brazil and went even closer, cracking a drive in from 30 yards only to see it crash back off the crossbar.

Despite an attempt by Fellype Gabriel to break the world record for the number of step-overs, there was little else to cheer the lively crowd in the closing stages and though Syria finished stronger, they could not find the equaliser.

Syria lost 6-0 the last time they came up against the South Americans at under 20 level and their coach Milosav Radenovic said: "We played for the full 90 minutes without too much respect for Brazil. After this match, I am sure we will do better against Brazil at another championship."

We draw with Majd in Homs 1-1 while Itihad won against Hteen 2:0 and they won the title. I have to admit though that they deserve it while we didn't

now we have to wait till next year , this is the fifth time in 10 years were we get second place instead of 1st

I don't know how much more we can wait....

Well this was one of the most amazing trip I've ever made in my life. I spent two days from heaven in Palmyra (Tadmor) and Al Hosin Castel.

Yesterday I was in Homs to attend a match between Al Karamah which is my team and Al Jaish and what a great match it was , it was attended by more than 38000 spectators and we won 1:0 with a goal by Abd Al Rahman Akkary 9 minutes before the end of the match.

The match was very nice although other team was playing defence only but the cool thing is that we won and this is what matter
